Nothing without a cause

There are things that happen in life that are confusing. If you’re like me you can meditate on them too much until it clogs your mind, blocks creativity and progress. Sometimes we may never know why something happens in life, other times we will, but one thing is sure, if we trust God with what we don’t understand it unclogs our thinking.

God always has a reason for allowing things to happen as they do. The great Prophet Ezekeil tells how God allowed captivity for His people to purge and clean up the evil that consumed them. But through it all He preserved those who stayed faithful. There was a remnant that didn’t waver from their faith. And in the end, they would come out victorious. In fact, we are still benefiting today because of their faithfulness. The lineage of Christ many years later came from their faith. A few faithful people can make all the difference.

“Yet behold, there shall be left in it a remnant who will be brought out, both sons and daughters; surely they will come out to you, and you will see their ways and their doings. Then you will be comforted concerning the disaster that I have brought upon Jerusalem, all that I have brought upon it. And they will comfort you, when you see their ways and their doings; and you shall know that I have done nothing without cause that I have done in it,” says the Lord God.” Ezekiel 14:22-23

I love the fact that “God does nothing without cause”. If we follow Christ regardless of what things may look like, in the end we will see His plan unfold. Indeed “all things work out for the good of those who love God” (Romand 8:28).  Whatever you are facing, whatever your obstacles are, remain faithful. In the end you will find comfort and may have some sort of understanding of why God allows certain things to happen.  God has a plan, but we must remain faithful to Him for the plan to unfold. Don’t give up on what you feel in your heart, hold on to the dreams and desires God has given you. In His time and in His way it will unfold. Trust God and be the difference people are looking to for guidance.

“Trust the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do and he will show you which path to take. (Proverbs 3:5,6 NLT)
