Peace

Birds typically do not sing while they are on the ground. They sing when they are in a tree or some other spot off the ground. Being on the ground is too dangerous for birds as it is for us. God’s desire for us is to soar in this life.  According to Isaiah as long as we are focused on Him, trusting in Him, we can soar above the circumstance we face.

“You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3

Isaiah writes this in a very troubling time in Israel. People were chasing other gods, living as they pleased. God was nowhere to be found in their lives. Immorality, hatred, evil and corruption was everywhere.  Yet Isaiah says to God’s people, a small remnant at this time, keep your focus on God, and you will have perfect peace. Then he goes on to set out a plan to keep this perfect peace

“With my soul I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; For when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.” Isaiah 26:9

Early, meaning before I jump to any conclusion, or let fear come on me, before I make any decision or utter a word to anyone. I will seek God; I will put my mind in the one I trust. Man, if I could learn to do this, eliminating all distractions but God for just a moment fly to heights to see what God would want me to see, it would change my life. So, identify your distractions, those things keeping you from hearing God and sing, soar and enjoy life as it’s designed. He has you!

Stand Strong!
