Loving God Has No Limits
Over in over in the Chronicles and Kings I come across leaders who only serve God so far. Like this guy Amaziah who acknowledges God as God but did whatever he wanted.
“And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a loyal heart.” II Chronicles 25:2
I’ve seen it and I’m sure you have; people are loyal to a certain extent. As long as things are going well for them and as long as they feel something is in it for them. We can all be that way with certain things, we are human. But when it comes to our relationship with God, we must not set boundaries.
This guy Amiziah ended up in a bad place. He defeated Edom (another nation of people) in a war and took their gods and started worshipping them. God confronted him, “Why have you sought the gods of people which could not rescue their own people from your hands?” (V15) How foolish we become when we aren’t loyal, especially to God. Loving God has no limits and neither do the rewards.
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” I Corinthians 2:9
