Protect Truth
I always enjoy the book of Joshua, partly because he is a man of action. I also love reading how God gives him strategy for every battle. At the start of the book, lodged between three verses where God tells Joshua to be strong and courageous is the verse that explains how.
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8
Meditation on God’s promises throughout the day keeps us strong and will bring success. This is good to remember but tough to do under all the stress and frustration life throws at us each day. I know I can have great times in prayer and reading my Bible in the morning and before noon something always comes up to steal what just inspired me, God’s promises. God’s promises are truth that we are to live by. I’m still learning to protect the truth no matter what lie Satan comes at me with. It’s like the Parable of the Sower Jesus taught about, where only one out of four seeds produced. Once the seed was sown three out of four would be destroyed. So I’m learning when something tries to steal the truth from me and put doubts and fears in my heart I must stop and capture that thought. The Bible tells us we are in ab battle for truth.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…” II Corinthians 10:4-5
The promises of God are real, His word is truth and brings life and success. Meditate on what you know is backed up in the Bible. No matter what you face during the day, truth meditation brings us back to life and calms our spirits so we can hear what God wants. He leads us to success but we must learn to hear Him under stress! Stay calm and cool and success finds you!
