The last few chapters of Zechariah is a vision for Gods people. As I read it I’m reminded of how God is constantly trying to bless His people. The message is about Jerusalem which represents the dwelling place of God. How God will one day fully restore, heal, take out their enemies and they will bless nations.
“And in that day it shall be that living waters shall flow from Jerusalem” Zechariah14:8
My meditation today took me to the thought that since we are the dwelling place of the Lord according to Apostle Paul (1: Corinthians 6:19) and according to what Jesus said “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38)
Then this takes this prophecy to a whole new personal level. We are the living water, God will take care of our enemies, we will be that person that people want to be around. We will prosper and the favor of God will be on us. But you see not every believer gets this. There are those that look at faith as a “just in case” like a fire insurance policy, their not committed in all they do. For such people the Bible is clear they will be cut off or will not receive the full blessings of God.
“And it shall come to pass in all the land,” Says the Lord, “That two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die, But one–third shall be left in it: I will bring the one–third through the fire, Will refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’; And each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’ ” Zechariah 13:8-9
I want to be one of those He brings through the fire, refines and tests so that our faith is like gold. Pure, admired, sought after, solid, strong and stands out in a crowd because the Spirit of God is radiated from me, like Gold. Gold is what our faith is compared to, priceless! So whatever your being tested with, whatever God is purifying you in today know that when you allow Him to work, He will bring you out and life flowing waters will flow from you naturally. Be patient and let God work in you, what you see, what you are going through is only a test. Hold on!
Live Strong!
