What Can I Do About It?

I get frustrated, even angry when I see a problem that goes against the principles of God, but there is nothing that I can do about it. I feel helpless to do anything! It affects me mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

At this point I realize I have a decision to make; do I shove it out of my mind and ignore it so I can function, or do I continue to ponder over something I can do nothing about?

What’s the right thing to do?

The Bible tells me to turn to God, man that sounds so churchy, “just pray about it”. In all honestly, I must not assume there is nothing I can do when prayer is everything. Our first move in with anything that disturbs us is to ask God.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” (James 1:5,6)

The scripture is clear when it tells us not to doubt. We must not go to God with a “well this is all I can do” attitude. Pray understanding that with God all things are possible. Then be available and approach God with a willing heart of faith. Pray expecting an answer from God for you. Never underestimate the power of God to use you.

The more passionate you feel about a problem or crisis the more intense our prayers should be. Don’t just ignore the need, do something about it.
