You Have An Advantage

The story of Daniel in the Bible is a fascinating read. Of course, stories like the diet of the four teenagers, the fiery furnace and the lion’s den stand out but the thought came to me today was how the Lord reveals secrets to those that serve Him. Daniel is in captivity and King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that he wanted it not only interpreted but they had to tell him what he dreamed. Impossible but he was killing off the astrologers who couldn’t do it. Young Daniel steps in. As he stands before the king, he says no man can tell the King what he wants but there is one who can.

“But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these:” Daniel 2:28

God reveals secret things to those who love and serve him. You see we all get confused in life at times and are drawn to know the plan of God. The cool thing is that though God doesn’t share everything with us He does give us a glimpse of His secret plans. Apostle Paul tells us

“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.” I Corinthians 2:9-10

So what I figure is searching means loving God on a higher level. If we want to know deeper insights, we are to pray and search with love in our hearts for God and for what’s best for others in our situation. Searching draws us closer to God but gives us the advantage in any situation we are facing. As we seek Him, and desire what’s best secrets are revealed. Daniel had every right to be bitter as he was taken from his own home. But instead, he wanted what was best for the King and saved the lives of thousands. God gave him what he needed. So, whatever your facing today, God has the answer, whatever decision your facing, God has the direction and strategy. Love God, desire the best for others and live ahead of the problem.
