No Second Guessing
Hesitation brings doubt, when you know what God wants. That’s what Joshua learned as he led Israel into the Promised Land. They had had great victories over Jericho, AI and several other cities but now many kings had heard about their victories and gathered together as one to fight Israel with one massive army.
“And they came out with all their troops, a great horde, in number like the sand that is on the seashore, with very many horses and chariots. And all these kings joined their forces and came and encamped together at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel. And the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for tomorrow at this time I will give over all of them, slain, to Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.”” Joshua 11:4-6 ESV
Joshua didn’t hesitate even though he was out numbered by man’s perspective. He knew God was with him and the very next day faced the enemy head on and God gave them victory. From there they went through the land with confidence and conquered.
Hesitating when God says go can bring doubt and fear. When we fully obeying the Lord and winning against evil, Satan brings his forces against us. This shouldn’t intimidate us, make us hesitate or second guess, but move us with more aggression to do what God wants. No matter what the forces look like against us, God assures victory. It almost a testimony when we feel overwhelmed by looking at the numbers against us, because God trust us with the battle, we are to quickly move forward with assurance.
“For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” 1 John 5:4 ESV
