Turn Aside And Look
The call of Moses teaches us a lot about God’s character. Why did God use a burning bush? He could have just spoke to Moses. This was a test for Moses, not so God would see if he would follow God’s call, but to show Moses God speaks in many different ways. Moses could have ignored the bush and kept working, tending sheep. But he stopped and explored. I love the fact that God wants us to explore and discover.
“Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.” So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Exodus 3:3-4
God wants us all to be open to new ideas, new possibilities, if you think about it that’s how He created all of us. He is a fun loving, adventurous God. He speaks to us as we are open to explore, search out new things. Dreams are realized as we break outside the norm and act in faith. So often we get stuck in routines and certain ways of doing life. Some of that is good but if we aren’t careful we can get miserable and closed minded. Leaders are always open to new ideas, new things, all possibilities. Leaders do not limit God! I think more people would follow God if the just understood how progressive and fun love He is. So don’t turn away from those impressions and possibilities God brings in your life. Always be open to new things, turn aside to the burning bush. God speaks through unusual events.
